IPS Unipamplona supports the TROPSENSE project in the aquisition of samples for the early detection of tropical diseases

Thanks to the work done by Universidad de Pamplona and Universitat Rovira i Virgili in the framework of the Tropsense project, a new artificial system based on the concept of the electronic nose has been formulated, designed and developed. Its main objective is the earlt detection of tropical diseases such as Dengue and Leishmania, through breath samples given by voluntary patients. Secondments of two professors from Universidad de Pamplona (Colombia) in Poland in the frame of TROPSENSE project

The cooperation between the Rovira i Virgili University (Spain) and the University of Pamplona (Colombia) led to the successful design and development of an artificial system based on the concept of an electronic nose, which will be used to detect tropical diseases. This research will be further developed at the IPS Clinic Unipamplona, under the coordination of Dr. Omar Geovany Perez. Various researchers from the Tropsense project met in Pamplona (Colombia) in November 2015, with the occasion of starting the breath samples collection of patients affected by the Dengue disease in the Department of Norte de Santander, Colombia.
